New Brands for Copenhagen Fashion Week SS24

The programming of Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) SS24 has been unveiled, with 31 brands participating in the event after having been approved by the Organization’s rigorous selection process according to 18 minimum standards.

As part of the Fashion Week, which will take place from August 7 to 11, a number of new designers will participate in the Cphfw NewTalent program, each of them being presented alongside a number of recurring and established designers.

Four competitors have been selected to participate in this edition of the NewTalent Initiative, including the designers Latimmier and P. L. N. from last Season, as well as the new competitors Nicklas Skovgaard and Rolf Ekroth, the latter making his debut on the podium this Season.

During this time, MLGA will receive the Cphfw NewTalent One To Watch slot, in which it will present its collection through a presentation or an event.

Paolina Russo wins the first edition of the Zalando Visionary Award

For SS24, CPHFW and Zalando have also created the new Zalando Visionary Award, designed to honor the creators of the future and help designers present their work.

At the first edition of the award, the Duo announced Paolina Russo as the winner, recognizing the London-based brand for its “visionary approach and Commitment to Innovation through its dynamic and eclectic knitwear collections” that bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and Technology.

As the winner, the Label will receive a prize of euros and a place in the official CPHFW calendar, with Zalando financially supporting the production of the brand.

Other brands participating in the SS24 edition include returnees and regulars of the CPHFW Ganni, Munthe, Baum und Pferdgarten, Henrik Vibskov, Marimekko, Remain and Stine Goya.

Given the growth of fashion week, the Organization has expanded its calendar so that it also falls on Monday, with the opening ceremony on Monday afternoon and a selection of key shows.

In a press release, CEO Cecilie Thorsmark said“ “As our fashion weeks continue to grow, we must also expand in the next part of the week to give the deserved time and space to the extraordinary programming that we have planned for SS24 via shows, presentations, events and activations.

“This growth is also a symbol of the reach and reputation of our organizations on a global scale, for which we are very grateful to our supporters, partners and brands.”

CPHFW also announced a number of new partnerships for SS24, including the Danish brand Birger Christensen Collective, which acted as a patron of the event and will financially support the brands participating in the NewTalent program through scholarships and mentoring.

In addition, CPHFW will also work with Copenhagen Airport on a number of cross-sectoral collaborations and initiatives, making the airport the official hotel partner of the event, with the Mission of learning from each other’s strategies.
